She was unbelievably irritable today. The plane ride had been full of turbulence, the bus was over crowded and had reeked of vomit, and to top it off Bruce wasn't able to meet her for another two hours. The day was already shaping up badly. She had just left the bus station, after having changed into her work clothes and looked around for a Dunkin Donuts. Sighing in annoyance she made her way to the Starbucks and entered the building.
At least it smells good in here. She browsed through the menu and settled on a coffee and chocolate chip muffin. While waiting Gwen quickly looked around and counted how many people were in the shop. Her eyes connected with another set of dark brown and she looked down, paranoia beginning to kick in.
She was probably just looking around too.She told herself, trying to calm her shaking hand. Gwen took a deep breathe and picked up her items, bringing them over to a table in the corner. She pulled her ipod out and put the headphones in her ears, hoping she could act invisible. The drink was warm, a little more harsh than her preference but still enjoyable. The muffin was absolutely delicious. Tapping her foot on the ground in time with the music, Gwen began going over her conversation with Bruce in her head.
They think its a serial killer, targeting young women. Teeth and fingerprints all missing so they are unable to identify the bodies. No prints or evidence in sight, and all victims found in the woods outside of town with stick figures over each body. Sounds like a serial killer to me.
Gwen had been very useful to the FBI due to her unique ability. While she may not be able to give them a name, she could at least give them somewhere to go on the case and potentially pick up some clue as to who the victims were. Hopefully this wouldn't be another strange case. Bruce was never happy when the cases were unusual. They always ended up unsolved and in limbo; also causing their friendship to become tense and strained. She sighed again while chewing the muffin, bringing a hand to her temple.
Good damn headache already.
